About Nicky
Nicky is a Professional Pastoral Supervisor and a Family Systems Coach.

She studies relationship systems using the Bible, Bowen Family Systems Theory and reflection on personal experience as her teachers. She is optimistic that both people and relationships can continue to grow and improve in the face of the challenges of life. Unfortunately it's not magic, growth comes with becoming increasingly observant, thoughtful and changing your behaviour. The motivation might be increasing satisfaction and confidence in life, alignment of values and behaviour, and greater compassion towards self and others (among other things).

Nicky is the mother of 4 adult children and has been involved in church ministry with her husband for over 30 years. She was first exposed to Bowen Family Systems Theory in 2006 when she began seeing a Family Systems Coach due to her own life struggle. As a result she became increasingly interested in Bowen Family Systems Theory and experienced the benefit of this theory if both family and church life.

I have two primary convictions in my work:
-
The only person you can change is yourself.
-
If one part of a system changes, the system has changed.

As a Pastoral Supervisor, I am passionate about helping leaders deepen their self-awareness, consider the alignment of their ministry and Christian convictions, manage stress and navigate challenge, whilst cultivating godliness and caring deeply for the people who they are responsible for and ministering to.

As a Family Systems Coach, I am intrigued by the profound joy and challenge of being a human in relationships ( 'social mammal, if you will'). I consider it a privilege to collaborate with people as they consider the 'hand of cards' they have been dealt and are currently playing. I have learnt first-hand from my own family systems coaching that a person can mature and be more responsible for their life and play a part in changing the dynamics in relationships.

My strength is in coming alongside you with interest, curiosity, hope and compassion.

Paul, Pastor
Family systems theory has opened a whole new level of awareness into the dynamics of relationships and coaching has helped me see things about myself I was unable to see before. This has been a wonderful gift to the family, staff and ministry relationships I have, and enabled me to be more present, less reactive while I take responsibility for what I contribute to them.

Debra, Pastoral Carer
Supervision sessions with Nicky have been invaluable to me in pastoral care work and mentoring a volunteer team. I invariably come away with fresh insights.
James, Assistant Minister
Nicky is a great support and has been so helpful in navigating the difficulties in ministry life. I've really appreciated her knowledge, her ability to listen well and ask helpful questions. Our sessions have helped me find some blindspots and action things that I know would be helpful but are easy to put off.
